Welcome, versatile earthling. You are currently at http://th-g-craze.blogspot.com. It is named as such because we are crazy people, most of whom hold a doctorate from the nonexistent Institute of Psychiatric Health. Please leave a message after dumbfoundingly reading this. Thank you.
(P.S. Try using a mirror.)
Hello and welcome, we are 2G'09 and one of the things we love to do is go for random class outings. A memorable incident is the Security Guard vs. Karan, Sherry and Vione case at Century Square. We also love to arm wrestle, play, squeak, squeal and suan Wencong about his many failed attempts. Thank you for actually being here.

2G'09; The only class in TK that has its own tagline!
"Class of forty; smart yet naughty!"

Hating us really won't make you smarter. You know you're jealous.

Profile
Forty-one Scientards from Tanjong Katong Secondary under the baton of the best Biology teacher ever: Mrs Esther Yap, currently known as TK2G'09.
We are the noisechild of 2009, it's true.
We love Science nonetheless. So sue us.

Hmmm... I feel bored, so I shall post up my geography notes out of randomness!

What are the names of the different types of rocks?
Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic.

Igneous Rocks :
Igneous rocks are molten material [called magma] that has cooled and solidified. It's texture is affected by the speed at which magma cools and hardens. If it cools and hardens slowly, it becomes a coarse-grained rock. If it cools and hardens quickly, it becomes a fine-grained rock.
Coarse-grain igneous rocks : Formed when magma cools and hardens inside the Earth.
Fine-grain igneous rocks : Formed when lava cools and hardens on the Earth's surface.
Two examples : Pumice and Scoria

Sedimentary Rocks :
Weathering and erosion break down or wear down rocks into smller pieces. These tiny pieces of rock, together with sand, clay and silt are called sediments.
Sediments are eventually deposited into rivers and seas and form layers on river or sea beds.
As layers of sediments pile up, the weight of the layers on the top presses down on the layers below.
Texture of sedimentary rocks depend on the size of the original sediment. If the size of the sediments are small, the sedimentary rocks formed will be fine-grained.
If the size of the sediments are big, the sedimentary rocks formed will be coarse-grained.
Some sedimentary rocks are formed from the remains of animals and plants [E.g. Limestone] The main characteristic of sedimentary rocks is that they are formed in layers which vary in thickness and appearance.
Two examples : Conglomerate and Shale

Metamorphic Rocks :
Metamorphic rocks are formed as a result of intense pressure and heat acting on igneous and sedimentary rocks. This occurs due to crustal movements or when the rock comes into contact with molten magma.
Pressure and heat sometimes cause metamorphic rocks to have a foliated appearance [bands].
When there is heat, igneous rocks turn to metamorphic rocks.
When there is pressure, sedimentary rocks turn to metamorphic rocks.
Two examples : Slate and Marble

I hope you have enjoyed the result of my boredom, and see you next time. :O
I know that was totally useless.
Banzai!
